Big Island police are investigating a reported robbery that occurred Friday morning in Hilo.

Big Island police are investigating a reported robbery that occurred Friday morning in Hilo.

Around 12:20 a.m., an 18-year-old Hilo woman reported that she was on Haili Street near the Palace Theatre when she was confronted by several individuals who assaulted her and stole her handbag, according to the Hawaii Police Department. The suspects fled the area on foot toward Kinoole Street.

The victim suffered minor injuries but declined medical treatment, according to police.

Two women and a man, all Hilo residents ages 23, 20 and 20, respectively, have been arrested in connection with incident. West Hawaii Today is not identifying them pending charges.
